Montrose, an 1800-era trading mecca for pioneers and farmers, is located just one hour west of the Twin Cities on Highway 12. Today, it still offers the quiet ambiance of verdant soy and corn fields plus several businesses, churches and restaurants.

The Butterfly Inn is near some state parks with numerous lakes, rivers, bike routes and ski trails nearby. Montrose is also in the heart of some great antiquing, with shops scattered around many local towns. Golfing is also available in nearby Buffalo.
